Our Heritage
The Dawn of Life, the Source of Light
Known in Ijebuland as “The Dawn of Life, The Source of Light, and Beacon of Secondary Education”, Ijebu-Ode Grammar School has shaped generations of young men since 1913 and is a founding member of the AIONIAN group of schools.

Founded on 20 January
Established by the Church Missionary Society (Anglican Mission) — the oldest secondary school in Ijebuland and the second oldest in Ogun State.

Rev. S. J. Gansallo
Founded by Rev. S. J. Gansallo, assisted by Rev. J. A. Cole, opening its doors to just fourteen students.

Abeokuta Road
The school moved to its permanent site on Abeokuta Road, where it stands to this day.

The anthem was introduced, joining the motto as part of the school's enduring identity.

A tradition of service
The school has sent forth Abraham Adesanya, lawyer and activist; Inumidun Akande, former Chief Judge of Lagos State; and Adeleke Mamora, Minister of State for Health — among many other distinguished graduates across law, government and public service.
About the Set
The 89/94 Set
We entered the gates of Ijebu-Ode Grammar School in 1989 and left them in 1994 — five years that shaped a brotherhood which has outlasted every classroom bell.
Today the Association keeps that brotherhood alive: staying in touch across cities and continents, marking one another's milestones, standing together in difficult seasons, and keeping faith with the school that formed us.
